About This Event

Operation Mincemeat is the Olivier Award-winning Best New Musical, now on its first-ever world tour. The show tells the fast-paced, hilarious and unbelievable true story of one of the most audacious deceptions in military history. In 1943, British Intelligence planted a dead body carrying fake documents off the coast of Spain to convince the Nazis the Allied invasion would target Greece rather than Sicily. The ruse worked so well that Churchill received the message: Mincemeat swallowed rod, line and sinker. With 138 five-star reviews making it the best-reviewed show in West End history, plus Tony Award nominations on Broadway, this is a genuine theatrical phenomenon. The musical runs at Theatre Royal Newcastle from Monday 22 to Saturday 27 June. Running time is 2 hours 35 minutes including interval.
