Phoenix Dance Theatre brings Interplay to Northern Stage as part of an 18-date national tour. Founded in 1981 by three young Black British men from Leeds, Phoenix has grown into the longest-standing contemporary dance company outside London, internationally respected for work that encapsulates the diverse spirit of multicultural Britain. Interplay is a striking mixed bill celebrating creative collaboration, featuring work by internationally acclaimed choreographers. The programme explores themes of duality and shared authorship, including a newly reimagined production of Next of Kin, which originally premiered at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre in New York City.
